A Couple of Updates

Hello, Everyone:

Thank you for reading MillennialSteward.com. Recently, I’ve not been posting as much as I did over the winter, and I wanted to fill you in on what’s going on.

First, I’ve been uber-busy. Mrs. Jones has been working through her PhD seminars like a boss. That means that a large chunk of my writing time has been devoted to watching Miss E (who is a toddler extraordinaire). Thankfully, Mrs. Jones’ super-awesome mother has pitched in just as we were getting stretched too thin. Here’s to you, Mrs. N.

Second, I have two goals on my bucket list that I want to complete: 1. write a novel. 2. write a good novel. I have shifted a large part of my writing focus to short stories and outlining a novel. This means of the 2000 or 3000 words that I can produce in a week right now I’m devoting the bulk to these projects. If you want to know why I’m doing this, please check out my post on “Why I Write (And Why You Should Do Your Thing Too)“.

Third, I am anticipating starting business school in the fall. I am doing this for three reasons: I’ve received strong counsel from many in the Church that this is a vital ministry need; this is a practical complement to my theological training in stewardship and leadership; and, Mrs. Jones and I have a heart to serve post-moderns, post-Christians, and churches who need help becoming healthy. These three reasons are encompassed in the fact that both Mrs. Jones and I feel convicted to stay where we are and complete our education.

What this means is that I will probably be post a bit less frequently (once or twice weekly), but with an eye towards richer content, introducing short stories, and chronicling my experiences in learning about the practical side of stewardship in the nonprofit and church world. As always, I look forward to your comments and feedback as we go along.
